Review of the Development of The Crew
I will be reviewing the development of Ubisoft's The Crew. This game is interesting from a technological standpoint because of the hyper-realistic models and physics it makes use of. The main change in technology that has made this game possible is the improvement in GPUs in the latest generation of games consoles, allowing more and more detailed models to be rendered and used at a higher frame rate for a more visually appealing game. In addition to the 3D design used for the game's assets, the studio behind this game used cinematography for cutscenes and advertisements, 2D graphic design for textures and other assets as well as packaging and posters, sound design for game assets, and countless other areas of design. This is certainly a career I could see myself working in, though potentially not in a 3D design aspect. Programming would be more the path I could see working in specifically, but a studio such as this would be an excellent workplace for me.
